Professional Profile: I earned my certification in History/Social Studies for grades 7-12 in 2010; I earned a cross endorsement in English in April 2012; I have been a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the national honors society for education, since 2009; and am currently working as a high school history and English teacher at Highville Charter School in New Haven. Along with my education and work experience, I have also served my community as a Girl Scout leader since 2001.

In my current position, I plan and deliver CCSS-aligned lessons in English and history, which have included many performance tasks and assessments. Other responsibilities include communicating with parents, maintaining attendance and grading records on PowerSchool, and collaborating with colleagues to design curriculum for both English and social studies. Additionally, I have completed modules 1, 2, 3, and 5 of my TEAM training while at Highville.

Building Sub, Sept 2012-December 2013: In this position, I provided coverage for teachers as needed and monitored students assigned to in-school suspension.
Paraprofessional, Oct 2011-Sept. 2012: I collaborated with my colleagues to reinforce information and provide small group instruction in ELA and social studies classes, which helped refine my skills for differentiation.
Long Term Substitute, Jan-May 2011: Duties included assuming all responsibilities of a seventh grade social studies teacher, including report cards and parent conferences. I taught units on introductory geography and Latin America.
